Our Pumpkins 2011 ~ We had a great evening carving. Emma did all of hers CAT by herself. Rex did most of his. He needed a little help with the fine details those flames were a bit touchy! I did Meg's Princess Pirate just like her in her costume. Nate did sparky the sun devil from his old ASU stomping grounds.

I can't believe i'm done with cribs, diapers, and pretty school i'll have two days a week that are kid free. At least for an afternoon!

Back to school & Back to the Doctor

Emma and Rex started back to school. We now live close to the school so they get to walk. We went and got nielson concretes after there big day back to school.

Rex was not happy to be back to school. (i think he misses his old friends), but he came home happy with his day.

Emma missed her first day back since she had an Apt. with Dr. Muhonen in CA. She got to be with her old friends and they took her best friend out for breakfast in their P.J.'s (it's was suppose to be a surprise for her birthday, but i think she figured it out!!!)

Emma was so excited to have a rolling backpack. I think she wanted to go back to school just so she could use it! I was extremely nervous to send her back to school in her halo, but she wanted to go so bad i couldn't say no. The first 2 days have gone smoothly.

She missed Dress rehearsal, & pictures. She almost missed the recital, because she was sick.

She ended up with strep throat and scarlet fever. But she danced cute and had fun. Of course she loved being on stage!

Utah Trip

This was kind of a whirlwind trip. I use to love these, but i'm getting to old for them! We drove Thur. and Fri. Then Friday night i got together with some sisters from my mission, So Fun. Then i spent all day with my sister Karly. I think my kids wore her out! I know they wore me out. We went to the aviary, kids loved the bird show. We played at the park ate lunch we got at Great Harvest where Karly works. Went and saw Kung Fu Panda 2. Then i needed a nap :) then we went and saw Temple Square and the Conference center. Whew it was a packed day! Then we drove home on Sun. I was so excited to see Nate after him being in AZ for a week. Then we hung out with friend at Jake & Jaimie's pool for Memorial Day! What a weekend!

Meg has discovered snails in our back yard. It's a sad day for the snails! She makes these chalk houses for them and then when they try to escape she puts them back. Let me tell you it is hours of babysitting. i feel i should pay the snails!

Meg's preschool had a mothers day tea. They escorted us to our seats and served us lunch then sang songs to us. It was really cute. Before hand they had asked the kids things about their mothers. Apparently i am 85 years old with grey hair and love to clean up and do dishes! That must be why she refuses to clean she knows how much i love to!

Emma missed making the mothers day project at school, because she came home with a headache.

I'm in love with American idol this season. i don't know what it is. The fact that the judges are so nice. Or that I like almost all of the contestants. While i think Steven Tyler's feathers are a bit to much for my kids. We put feathers in over spring break, and i was in the mood for a photo-shoot this weekend.

Emma played the piano at the ward talent show. She did not miss one note of I Love to See The Temple.

Rex had a great time painting and working on his car for the Pine wood derby. He didn't place cause the car had some technical difficulties. We fixed them but it was to late! He showed great sportsmanship.

Meg on her 5th birthday had to wear her hair with her new outfit.

Meg loves to do hair. I have come home and found her combing, wetting and put clips in Nates hair. The other day she got a hold of Levi!

Meg wanted pink yarn in her headband braids! She was the birthday girl so i said O.K.

Couldn't have done the cake with out my sister. Thanks Katie! We did have to put 2 spoons for added support so it didn't become the leaning tower of Pisa! No one noticed thanks to the frosting!

We painted, searched for stones that had fallen off of Rapunzel's crown practiced walking like a princess. I'm pretty sue Meg's favorite part was opening presents.

Meg had to invite Her babysitter. When she's mad at me she wish she was her Mom!

Baseball season is in full swing

Rex is having a really good year this year. Last year i think he got one hit, the whole season. This year he has gotten a hit every game but one, and i blame that on the guy making the calls! Seriously they were balls not strikes, one hit the base! So Friday his game was almost over and Rex had already hit. My sister and mom were in town and it was getting cold. So i decided to leave at the end when Rex's team was in the outfield. As I was getting to the parking lot I hear all this cheering coming from our field then i hear them cheering for Rex. Apparently the kid had a great hit. Rex reaches out and almost catches it. It roles out of his glove, he picks it up and has a beautiful throw right to first base. GETS the kid out. Seriously plays like this don't happen all that much at this age! He was so excited. So was I!

This is a tradition we started about 3 or 4 years ago and it has been a fun one. My mom and dad got these awesome huge bright balloons this year. SO CUTE!

I got smarter this year and put really, really long ribbon on the balloons so when the kids let them go inside we could retrieve then easy!

So this year Emma & Rex were up at 3:30 then again at 4:30 and i don't think they ever went back to bed!!! I got up at 6:30 and they had moved their bed into the living room with the presents thinking if they were closer they could sleep! YA! like that was going to happen!!! If you would believe everyone else got up at 7:30! They didn't even have anything to look at Santa had wrapped all their gifts into one big box!

My kids have decorated the tree 3 times now. and i took a nap while they did it.

Then this morning when i got up it was redecorated again and Rex had made a tree topper out of a plastic bowl and pipe cleaners! I think ill just leave it. It's done!

Last night she wrote a bunch of letters on a piece of paper, with a picture on the bottom. She brought it to me and told me it was her Christmas list. I asked her to read it to me and she laughed at me and said "MOM! I can't read!"

Thanksgiving was awesome. We had a pie party. I got my back adjusted, thanks to Cam. I had a grand time watching my dad manipulate the heat in his broken oven that only broils, with success. I loved watching ; ) my dad and sisters cook pies! We ate the most amazing Thanksgiving dinner. My Aunt Kathie spoiled me like crazy with a trip to the Sonama room! We had a pancake party for levi. We got to see Tangled ( I LOVED IT!) We had a girl lunch and shopping. Then drove home with no traffic. whew back to school on Mon.

Meg Stories:

Meg went early to vegas and my sister was talking with her and teasing her that her feetie pj's were missing their holes in the bottom and Meg said "Baby Jesus calls these Feetie pajamas!"

She also kept referring to thing in her world or gigi's world. like the movie theatre is something she can relate to so that was in her world. Tip Toe where she got new twinkle toes are in Gigi's world.

The girls have these gloves you put on your hands to sleep in that make your hands soft. Meg calls them glubs. Some times she puts them on her feet and walks around like a duck. It makes me laugh every time she does it. A few months ago Nate came in the room and Meg was wearing just the glubs on her feed and she looks at Nate and says " I'm a Quacker!"

We have this amazing Gardenia bush in our from yard. Meg, my nature girl loves to pick flowers. When she picks these for me i tell her to put them on my night stand. The other night i found a bowl full of water with 2 flowers floating in it. I love this girl.

So over the years of our trips to Canada i have always taken a family picture at Cameron falls. Here are a few from the years gone by. This year the day I planned to take pictures we ended up doing a second regatta boat river run, then as luck would have it a nasty wind came and then the pouring rain. The kids were grumpy by picture time so we postponed. Then Rex left a few days early with his cousin, So we had to photoshop him into the pic.

AAAH the last day of summer!

Since i was to tired to get up and take a picture of Nate on his first day of school i decided to put his last day of summer! The Fab Family went to the beach to soak up some sun. I love how relaxed he looks! We love living close to the beach for those occasional trips we take. Nate keeps planning how he is going to make a shower to wash the sand off everything and everyone!

My kids had the best time in Canada. Thanks to my mom who orchestrated all these activities. We had bubbles and play-doh. Terra did space day. Katie did Hawaii day. Karly did olympic day. Jake did Regatta boats down the river On top of that Waterton got a new park. We went on hikes, with the kids custom made walking sticks. panned for gold! Boat rides. Fed the chipmunks. Needless to say i have a ton of pictures. Here is a small portion of them.

Riding 4-wheelers in Flag

We had a really fun family adventure to Flagstaff during our trip to Az last week.

First on the drive up the freeway there was a major accident on the road. rumor has it a semi truck was on fire. Closed the freeway for like 5 hours so thanks to the iphone gps we got off the freeway found a road, if it can be called a road we had to put it in 4-wheel drive pull a few cars out that got stuck and send them back to the freeway! Kids loved the whole thing. Then when we got to the cabin it had just finished raining and we all went and rode 4-wheelers. Kids got a little muddy. Wait till you see the video!!! Nates brother came with his 3 girls so the kids got some fun cousin time. The whole week was a great trip.

Sequoia National Forest

Then this last week we went to Sequoia National Forest. This place has the biggest trees in the world. Seriously they are the biggest in the world! We Camped in a tent in a bear infested camp site. Kinda freaked us out! We drove under huge trees. Had picnic's on huge logs by huge trees. We also went on a tour of Crystal Cave with stalactites and stalagmites It was a really fun trip. It should be on everyones list of things to see!

Lake Powell 2010

I know i haven't posted lately, and i'm sad to report that my computer died. sad sad days... but i am getting stressed about getting to far behind on my journaling of my adorable little family so I took Nates computer hostage to make a quick update post! We went to Lake Powell and had a great time. We were able to have Rex baptized there which was a really fabulous experience. Jaimie has some really cool pics of that trip HERE . Look for the picture of Levi going down the slide.

Rex and Crew were having a mud war. Why do boys enjoy things like this? Rex ended up not so lucky in this war. He opened his eye and all you could see was mud. He was out for a day but then he got back in to things. You can see on the banana he was still keeping his eye shut as best he could while riding the banana!
